AxeWound on vuonna 2011 perustettu bändi jonka tunnetuin perustaja lienee
Bullet For My Valentinen Matt Tuck.
Ryhmässä vaikuttaa myös kolme muuta suuremman luokan muusikkoa; Liam Cormier (
Cancer Bats), Mike Kingswood (
Glamour Of The Kill), Joe Copcutt (
Rise To Remain) sekä Jason Bowld (
Pitchshifter).
Bändi ei ole julkaissut vielä debyytti-albumiaan
Vultures mutta sen on määrä ilmestyä tämän vuoden aikana. Facebookista sekä Tumblrista pystyy lataamaan ilmaiseksi

Itse kiinnitin bändiin huomiota kun luin paikasta X että Matt Tuckilla on mielenkiintoinen sivuprojekti ... sitten huomasin että kyseisen bändi esiintyy
Graspop Metal Meetingissä, jonne olen suuntaamassa juhannuksena!
Vasta nyt noin viikkoa aiemmin uskalsin alkaa kuuntelemaan tätä, jotenkin pelotti että mitä jos tämä onkin hirveätä paskaa. Lähinnä tuon logon takia ... onhan se hieno mutta pelkäsin että sieltä tulee jotain todella puuduttavaa death metal-mättöä :D
Onneksi ei, ja melkein hävettää että moista kuvitteli! Tämähän on vallan mahtavaa!
Monet spekuloi esimerkiksi Youtubessa ettei tämä tuo mitään uutta tähän genreen ... en nyt menisi niinkään sanomaan.
Mielestäni tässä ei pysytä jonkun tietyn genren sisällä ihan niin rajallisesti, ja itseeni kolahtaa etenkin raskas ulos anti, tarttuvat riffit - biisit jää kummittelemaan pääkoppaan (hyvällä tavalla!).
AxeWoundia jos pitäisi kuvailla muutamalla sanalla niin ne olisivat raa'an tarttuvaa soitantaa aimo annoksella bile-fiilistä!
Biiseissä on niin tarttuvaa ja bile-fiiliksen antavaa junttausta ettei tätä voi kuunnella paikallaan saatikka sitten livenä!
Raa'at ja örinä-vokaalit tekevät tästä mielestäni niin parasta, ja kliinit vokaalit vain saavat janoamaan lisää tätä rouheaa örinää.
Mielestäni
AxeWound on myös raskaampaa ja suoraviivaisempaa kuin
Bullet For My Valentine, eikä se ole mitenkään huono juttu. Miksi ihmeessä kukaan perustaisi kaksi saman kuuloista bändiä?
Eivät ole heittäneet moniakaan keikkoja, suurin tähän mennessä lienee ollut

I noticed this band when I read from somewhere that Matt Tuck is having a new band and soon I noticed that they're playing at
Graspop Metal Meeting, where I'm going on next week.
I got courage to listen what kind of music they play at the beginning of this week not earlier 'cause I was a bit scared ...
The logo of the band, even it's pretty cool, bring first to my mind some death metal-music and I don't like that kind of music almost at all ... luckily I was wrong!
I should be shamed of my negative thoughts 'cause this really kick some asses!!
Many poeple are talking that "they're not bringing anything new to this genre" and so on but I would disagree with them.
Yes, they're not creating something totally new but at least their songs are really heavy, having many different elements, most of the vocals are screams and clean vocals make you want more of those hungry, raw scream vocals!
Songs are very catchy, their having perfect party-mood in them and the riffs are damn heavy and amazing.
In my opinion,
AxeWound is heavier stuff than
Bullet For My Valentine and is a good thing, why the hells omeone would create two bands which sound exactly the same?!
They haven't played lots of gigs yet, but the biggest one was in
Download-festival at this summer, in early june.
Before
Graspop they're playing in
Gods Of Metal-festival in Italy and
Ear Shaker Days-event in Switzerland and then is, thank God,
Graspop Metal Meeting!
I'm so looking forward to see them, I have read some comments of the gigs, watch some live-videos and photos and they all tell that it's pretty fucking awesome at live! Perfection!
I will definitely make a post of them when I come back from
Graspop, stay tuned.
